This page will give you all the information you will need to begin your career with Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS as a new recruit.
Applications Accepted NOW through July 15, 2020
Upon successful completion of the application process you will be assigned to the Fire Academy. Here you will learn everything you need to know from start to finish about what it takes to be a firefighter for Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS.
This academy will run for approximately 22 weeks.
You will learn all the basics: from what is fire gear, how to raise ladders, how to pull a hose line, how to rescue a victim out of a mangled car, to how to provide basic life support to a patient on a medical run.
Upon completion of the the Fire Academy you will be a Kentucky Certified 400-hr firefighter and a National Registry EMT.
You will then receive your assignment to a 24/48 hour crew.
